'2D OR NOT 2D Animation Festival:
The Animaticus Foundation was proud to host its fourth annual '2D OR NOT 2D Animation Festival' at the Eames Imax Theater in the Pacific Science Center, Seattle on Saturday, 5th December, 2009.
With entries for the "Golden Pencil Awards" competition up by over 50% on the festival's record year this proved to be a year to beat all other years! Director Tomm Moore flew over from Ireland with Art Director Ross Stewart to present the Seattle preview of their outstanding, multi award-winning animated movie, "Secret of Kells". (Definitely not to be missed when it is distributed in the USA on March 17th - St. Patrick's Day!) Other events included a screening of Nina Paley's amazing one-woman creation, "Sita Sings the Blues" and a whole host of amazing short films that both delighted and entertained all those who came to see new and innovative animation.
Thanks go out to DigiPen Institute of Technology and Pacific Science Center for making this event possible through their generous support. It is hoped that the 2010 event will be held earlier this year - probably towards the end of September or in early October.
See you there!
